Our first VR narrative release, Archipelago, is a 30 minute navigable comic set on a series of islands containing 65 characters, 6,787 lines of dialogue, and 3 or 4 chickens. Archipelago's written content is roughly equivalent to a 100 page book. It would take more than 30 hours to follow every single character from start to finish.
“Truly a unique idea in a sea of many familiar ones.” -The VR Shop
If you are a writer or comics artist interested in helping forge a path forward in VR comics, drop me a line! Also you might want to check out the "screenplay" and storyboard for Archipelago below.
Before Archipelago, and consumer VR, Walkie Entertainment released the first navigable motion picture "Yacona Patova", a silent movie you can "walk around in", for the iPad. Still available today!
The name "Yacona Patova" was inspired by William Faulkner's Yoknapatawpha County. Faulkner imagined and created a fictional town in which he set all but three of his novels. He even went so far as to create a map of the town.
